Cost savings - Operatives can set up and operate two drill rigs independently increasing output per shift therefore reducing cost and programme duration. Particularly important on nightshift possession where excavation is required to access outside of e-pits.
Safety
Improvements -
Vibration:
Operator does not need
to be in contact with drill rig whilst drilling. Traditional manual
feed rigs have a vibration element which is negated with remote
control system ensuring no risk of HAVS.
Confined
space working:
Operators do not need
to be beside rig whilst drilling and can set up rig inside chamber
or pit and operate remotely from outside. This greatly reduces the
amount of time the operator needs to spend inside the confined space.
