The PC-150 machine is brand new and was purchased from Tyrolit UK. Built by Diamond Products in California it represents the biggest investment in diamond cutting plant, by any company, ever in the UK. Built for two uses - airfield anti skid grooving and concrete profiling/bump cutting. Head width is 1000mm and the machine is extremely quick and the slurry pick up leaves the grooves spotless. Complimenting our existing range of equipment from 300mm to 1600mm widths, we are now at the forefront of grooving and grinding service and technology in Europe. The PC-150 is capable of grooving 1200m2/Hour @ 4mm x 4mm x 25 centres (UK Airfield Spec) on Marshall Asphalt. New grooves left clean and dry. Some technical information
on the machine; Head Drive: Power from the engine is transmitted through a manually operated/over centre PTO clutch into a right angle drive gearbox through a special shock absorbing coupler. The vacuum blower is mounted directly above the right angle drive and driven by one of the output shafts. Blades: A 125mm diameter spindle for use with 300mm diameter blades is standard. The spindle will accept up to a 1000mm grinding/grooving head. Propulsion: Traction is provided by two hydraulic wheel motor assemblies, each with integral brake and two speed function. Speed is 0-90 lm / min forward/reverse. Features: On board vacuum system with diaphragm slurry pump and silencer. Full engine instrumentation including an audible alarm for low water pressure to blades. Slurry can be collected and pumped to a storage/separator tank for recycling or environmentally friendly disposal. Transport: Bespoke trailer towed by tractor from site compound onto work area each shift, no need for low loader each shift. Between sites easily transported with low loader. Can be supplied with our 10,000 gallon water tanker if necessary. We will be busy with the machine at Dublin & Edinburgh Airports from march 08 onwards. John Bunn 25 years service award. John, one of our senior and highly skilled operatives recently celebrated his 25th year with the company.
