Concrete
cutters (Sarum) Ltd carry out major runway refurbishment works at
RAF Leuchars, Fife. Working for AMEC
and in venture with Holemasters
(Scotland) Ltd a 2.5m package of works is underway
and due for completion in 27/9/07. 3 Frontline tornado bomber squadrons
operate from RAF Leuchars. Works involved include Rocksawing, Grooving,
and AGL seating Ring installation. Gully raising, Control Joint
cutting, Sawing (up to 600mm deep) texturing, Sealants and paintmarkings.
Concrete Cutters/Holemasters works are crucial to the overall programme
and as such is being managed on site full time by Iain Campbell
(CCs) and Jim McArthur (HMS). Also on site as part of our major
project support are maintenance fitters and retipping equipment.
Site foremen are Rab White (HMS) and Steve Barber (CCs). Both companies
are enjoying working together and share a longstanding trust.
Project
EAD phase 5 at Heathrow was successfully completed and handed over
on time.
Concrete
cutters showed there versatility at Heathrow recently where we took
on a project to remove and replace several thousand cats' eyes in
the airside tunnels. Working for the maintenance contractor for
BAA, Dyer
& Butler. Supervised by Peter Barnes the
project went very well and Hugh Blackburn the Airport manager of
Dyer & Butler congratulated us.
